Those Johnny Cash fans can be brutal...and unremitting.

As involving as JT's writing and delivery of his own stuff is, he's equally skilled as a blue-eyed soul singer:

Great idea to start a thread, which is specially designed to tribute the musicians on their birthday.
I think musicians really feel good if they got these type of surprises.

^I remember hearing Solitaire at a very young age and being caught up in the sadness of it!
Adam Clayton, born this day in 1960 in ⦠Oxfordshire, England. Heâs the bass player for U2 â I guess nothing more needs to be said about that then!
One of his side projects was to re-record the theme from Mission Impossible which he and fellow U2âer Larry Mullen Jr did together. The track was nominated for Grammy in 1997 and made it to #7 on the US Billboard Hot 100 as well as climbing as far as #7 on the UK singles chart.

Elvis Presley did a very good version of Solitaire...
it was recorded a year or so prior to his 1977 death...
and like his version of My Way it sums him up at that period of his sad life!

Thanks CH - that seemed a genuinely heartfelt performance to me! I'm not much of an Elvis aficionado, sorry to say - I must have missed something somewhere along the line, but I enjoyed that. And now I will run for cover!! Eeeeek!
