SEX PISTOLS "friggin' in the riggin'" b/w "something else" 1979
"a" side was written and recorded for their "great rock and roll swindle" movie...its crude, its crass, but most of all its the Pistols going all 'sea shanty' on you...love it!
"b" side, love that one also...its their take on the old Eddie Cochran classic...i love Eddie's but this s more hard edged,kick-ass rock and roll!
single failed to chart here but did make the UK top10

and now for my 'pick track of the day'...its gotta be "friggin in the friggin" guys...if only for the crude, crass lyrics!

ROLLING STONES " ruby tuesday" b/w "lets spend the night together" 1967
Ruby Tuesday is up there with their best tracks IMO...fantastic stuff!
"b" side, was actually part of a 'double-a side" in the UK, and rightfully so, its also brilliant
single only reached #3 here but deserved the top spot IMO!

ELO "rock and roll is king" b/w "after all" 1983
one of their last chart entries here...
"a" side has sort of an old rock feel to it,maybe a precursor to the Travelling Willburys thing?
"b" side is a synth instrumental which doesnt even sound like an ELO track
single peaked at unlucky #13 here

ALICE COOPER "only women bleed" b/w "welcome to my nightmare" 1975
this "a" side was later retitled "only women" because it was deemed offensive back in the day...
its a beautiful ballad IMO, and im not a huge Cooper fan by any means...
"b" side, im not really impressed with it, but im sure fans will and do love it!
single peaked at #50 here

VAN MORRISON & CLIFF RICHARD "whenever god shines his light" b/w "i'd love to write another song" 1989
a little known single by Van 'the man' Morrison and Sir Cliff...
"a" side is a ballad, its not too bad,i mean its passable, but...
the "b" side is a Van Morrison track, its a ballad too and is better than the "a" side IMO...
both sides are what youd call typical Van sounding songs...
this single failed to chart here, but did do okay on the UK charts from memory

DAVID BOWIE & BING CROSBY "peace on earth/little drummer boy" b/w "fantastic voyage" 1979
who'd have thought Bing and Bowie would ever record together??
this song was taken from a performance on a Bing Christmas special in 1977 but not released as a single until 1979..
its pretty good, both artists voices compliment eachother beautifully IMO
"b" side is taken from Bowie's "lodgers" album...i love that album and this track...
single failed to chart here but is still what i'd call "a lost classic" from both artists!
