Absolutely Futile Record Collection Analysis
#1
It's amazing what you can end up doing when bored !!

Being a geek, and feeling that I'm a musical Americophile, I decided to go through my music collection and work out what percentage of my albums are from artists from different countries.

I expected most of them to originate from the US, but was wrong. Results are:

Austrian 2%
Canadian 3%
French 1%
German 3%
Irish 2%
Italian 1%
Jamaican 4%
Multi-national 3%
UK 42%
US 36%

This totals 97% of them, and the rest are split between 30 countries which contributed less than 1% each.

I don't recommend that anyone wastes their life in this way !!

I did think about importing the above as a pie chart, but even I'm not that much of a geek.

PS I've just told Mrs Tiggi what I've done, and she's walked away shaking her head...

Don't have time to respond to this.

Too busy walking away and shaking my head.

Some examples:

The Avalanches
Black Sorrows
Nick Cave
The Go-Betweens
Men at Work
Midnight Oil

Not that many, actually...

PS The item on the list is Austrian, not Australian. Mostly Classical composers.

I diagnose an acute insufficiency of Japanese artists.

I possess precisely one CD by Japanese artists:

Shonen Knife - Let's Knife

Thank you for the consultation Dr Iota...

You have no idea what you are missing out on, pitiful imbeciles.

And no, Sparks doesn't count at all.
