TONY ORLANDO "bless you" B/W "am i the guy" 1961

this is new to me...
alli previously knew of Orlando was the couple of hits he had in the 1970s with Dawn...
Wiki says he was sixteen when this one was recorded/released...
both sides are okay, nothing special and i wouldnt go out to buy a compilation on the strength of these two tracks...
the single made it to #5 on the UK charts back in the day...
Here's Tony's Wiki page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tony_Orlando

ELVIS PRESLEY "a mess of blues" B/W "the girl of my best friend" 1960

"A" side is rough, raunchy and a Presley classic...
it showed that the US Army had not softened him
"B" side is an average Presley track which showed the US Army had softened him...
the "B" side is an early 1960s pop classic about unrequited love, it was issued as an "A" side single in the UK
in the mid 1970s and became a top10 hit in its own right...
this one with "a mess of blues" was a #1 hit in the UK, and rightfully so!
we dont need a Presley Wiki page link here as we all know who Elvis Presley is(or was)

looks like another Presley single this time round....

ELVIS PRESLEY "are you lonesome tonight?" B/W "i gotta know" 1960

even though the "A" side is a cover it is still brilliant, one of the best Presley tracks ever, and one that he carried over from his early career into his 1970s
concert tours....
"B" side...this could have been a hit in its own right if not for the "A" side it backed...
another Presley classic pop song that rarely gets the credit it deserves
this single was a #1 hit in the UK,as it was in a lot of countries...

as an added bonus...
there is a live version of the "A" side called "are you lonesome tonight?(the breakup version)....
well worth a listen if you need to put a smile on your face:

What a great share!.Camped up that classic and not-bad pychedelia. Being as you mentioned the terrif Roy Wood, how about one of their classic clips with him in it? A great job on an ABBA smash hit: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cSgzPrgRFXc The fun they have with a later-Elvis rocker: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-E3nxHUwd-M
Remember them from these days--they're/ the Dr. is still in existence but a pale shadow of the past.
