Oh! it wears a man down into the ground
It's the strangest elation
I can't describe it

In general I agree with that statement. I have heard very, very few songs I like more than the original but one of them I might have to say is the cover of Behind Blue Eyes by Limp Bizkit. To those of you who haven't heard it you're probably saying "What?! A rapper covered a classic rock song?" Well before I heard it I thought the same thing. It's actually done really well and I dare say I kinda like the tempo and flow better than the original. The only thing really off is instead of the rock-anthem theme near the end, Limp Bizkit throws in their own twist which, although out of context, still fits nicely.

I love this version .................The original by The Paragons is a good Rocksteady track but, Debbie and her chums added a drive and modern feel that took an uncut diamond and made it a gem.

OK here are three and I'm going to get shot for this, but :-
Fine Young Cannibals' versions of 'Ever Fallen In Love' (Buzzcocks) and 'Suspicious Minds' (sung by Elvis Presley)
Candi Flip's 'Madchester' version of Strawberry Fields (The Beatles)

I'll share this as a believe it is an excellent cover version , I'm non too sure about the original as I believe this carries the label of traditional.................IT has also been covered by Mike Oldfield, Kate Bush ad THe Cheiftens but non captures the feel as much as this version.

Punk Goes Classic Rock. Not necessarily better, in every case, but still a lot of fun.
Oh, and "Still Fly" by Devil Wears Prada. Much better than the original, even if DWP sucks.
