Mick Hucknall and co's fourth studio set, i have four or five of their albums(early ones), and their biggest seller, making 12x platinum in their homeland, platinum most other places, but barely reached gold status in the US...WTF!
i always thought these guys were a good band, very consistant in the quality of their output, but they always seemed to lack something that would put them into what i would call 'superstar' status to me...
this album is as usual, very good, with three great tracks IMO,
album is full of their standard soul, jazzy, bluesy, funk tinged sounds...
as a footnote old 1970s band The Faces reformed a couple of years ago in the Uk for a short tour, Rod Stewart's vocals during rehearals failed to hit the mark, The Faces then offered the role of vocalist to Paul Weller, who politely turned it down...next on the list was Mick Hucknall, he was free and took up the offer to rave reviews in the UK music press for his efforts, so, obviously the guy still has it!
I LIKE THIS ALBUM
