Really liked Queen Bee! The Pop Song track reminded me of No Doubt, not in a bad way!
Arcticbird_Star Wrote:Being mainly a pop guy myself, I understand that the main appreciation I have for the artists is not weather they can write their own
songs but how talented they are and how well the producers use their talent to make a wonderfully good album. I
have no problem with a decent pop artist who does not write any of her own material, as long as she's got a
interesting personality and a great voice. (and that the music sounds really cool to my liking)
There are a few pop artists who do write their own material that I love like some indie pop artists like Hafdis Huld and
that's cool but it's not a requirement for my enjoyment. You may think that I'm shorting my horizons and limiting
myself by just mainly listening to pop oriented music but the way I see it - it's all about my happiness and being
perfectly content with what I have, and I am. I have loads of great artists that are mostly all pop stuff and I never get
tired of hearing their music and I'm also quite good at discovering new great artists whenever the mood strikes.

Urgh..you had to bring up No doubt.. :ohwell:
I didn't really care for her new single "queen bee" myself..
I'm hoping that her new album will satisfy though.

There's so much great music out there , you'll never find a lot of it on the Top 40...The gals above have a large enough following,,,personal appearances mainly! Not big CD sales ! Nevertheless they are established pop artists who can create their own music!
Not my kind of artists at all...I checked all of them out a little bit, except for a few that I already knew about and checked out before like Lana D Rey & Julia Holter. Plus nothing came up when searching for "Billie Lindahl"? Thanks for trying to share some new music with me though.

Cool, thanks. I'm listening to their music (Promise and the monster) right now..very atmospheric and the singer Mary-Ella
has a pretty voice.
Apparition song was pretty with some unusual piano arrangement but a bit pretentious. Sorry that's just the vibe I pick up there. Nice track though!

You're welcome! I don't like Tune-yards but my brother does. :-) I "do" prefer the "quirky" side of things as well however!
Dreamy and quirky female pop is what I can't get enough of!
Oh and I just learned how to manually do the code to embed Youtube videos here, hope that's okay?
(since they won't do this automatically anymore for me?)
Anyway, an example of Quirky female pop - :-))

Oh yes MH. I saw your post! Love Tune-Yards from her first album! Actually Tune - Yards is a project name from the lead singer and composer Merrill Garbus from Massachusetts! The new album Nikki Nack is one of the best I've heard so far this year!
