funny you played an '80s Elton album yesterday as i was having a discussion with someone who mentioned he thought Elton's songs from that era were pretty lame except for the "2 low 4 0" album,
i ended up saying that they werent that bad in the 1980s in their own right but comparing them to such an incredible decade before it would have been hard for anyone, McCartney, Rod Stewart, Bowie amongst others couldnt live up to that 1970s output
add both Neil's (Daimond and Young), Queen, Bee gees, Dylan, Cohen to that list also
