Go Mitt...

In this peculiar election year the debates seem to matter! Usually debates are about 50/50. My score would be Romney 70, Obama 30.
Romney has 46% , now ahead of Obama so the debates did matter for once. The pressure will be on Obama tonight. I hope they make it interesting by debating foreign policy. I'll catch it on the rebound later in the week ...too late for this old geeezer...lol. (Hillary bailed out the prez with her statement that she was to blame for the Libyan slayiings. I wonder if it will come up tonight ...time will tell.)

Foreign Policy is scheduled for next weeks final debate always the most interesting topic for me don't really see that much difference in the two in this area

Music Head Wrote:Romney will carry my county Yep, you were right. I always knew Romney would be the Republican pick but I wasn't sure up until the end that Obama would be re-elected. I think that Romney's 47% comment and the Jeep ads killed his chances.

As a Canadian I watched the returns and thought Obama would get in again ! The Republicans have to retool and figure out in their candidate selection how to associate themselves with minorities and the common working citizen.
Their choice in 2016 should have leanings toward liberalism or a centre hinged Republican.

As for the second, I totally disagree. This country is pretty evenly divided between conservatives and liberals. The pendulum swings back and forth. Obamas popular vote margin of victory was far from a landslide. Take a look at the electoral vote map and the red and blue is striking in it's division. All it takes is one major screw up by either party for the electorate to say it's time for a change. Republicans do not want their candidates to have leanings toward liberalism, quite the opposite. People always complain about the two party system (even though there were five candidates on the ballot here). If the republican leans to the left, you may as well have a one party system.

I said more to the centre or middle if you will ! ...not to the left...just a little more to the left. In hindsight funny you mention the fact that the Republicans get in anyway eventually....the bet is they will in 2016 with a great candidate...maybe someone will emerge out of the blue like Obama did ? The GOPs had quite a run with Reagan and Bush senoir so anything will be possible ! After I sent this post I said to myself...ohhh ohhh . MH will pickup on the fact that the Republicans win just as much as the Democrats !!!!...my faux pas or oversight !
Any good candidates for 2016 on either side ? I am a bit of a political junky of sorts also ! However I vote for the CANDIDATE and not the party ! Music Head Wrote:I would agree with your first comment.

Well, here in Florida we embarrassed ourselves once again! I think we're still counting the votes....

Is it true that you have 5 pages to vote on ? ...if it is ...wow ! You're not stll using the chads are you ? ...lol
TraceNspace Wrote:Well, here in Florida we embarrassed ourselves once again! I think we're still counting the votes.... No chads anymore! It varies from county to county though. In Miami we had a touch screen, here in Brevard county we have paper ballots that you bubble in and feed to a machine. We only had 2 pages in my county but Miami-Dade had 12! Gee I wonder why the lines were so long.....
