Are you a working songwriter/working musician? Would you like this happening to you? We are are years and miles from this controversy, with no vested interest...but it still rankles. Upside down.
Like I said, I hardly ever dig too deep into a musician's history/bio. Hell, half the time I don't even know the names of the band members in a group I really like. I just know that I like Led Zeppelin's music and a big part of it is JP's guitar work.

I just laughed so hard when I heard the news!
I feel like this debate is going on since 40 years

It's a bit late to complain don't you think? (even if it was proven true)

No not at all, not if there's even a slim chance of recovering some of the money for the heirs, money that in effect was stolen from them, and especially not if that money comes from that scallawag, Jimmy Page. .

There's "stealing" a lick or 5 from an artist ("Fair Use") * and then there's that wholesale theft of another artist's work known as "copyright infringement". Perhaps this will be informative as to the difference:

* "Fair Use" is why parodists like "Weird Al" Yankovic are not prosecutable:

....and Weird Al gets permission to 'take the piss' out of someone elses songs....
i know he asked Eminem if he could cover "lose yourself" and Eminem declined him, so he didnt do it, which is strange really, considering Eminem 'takes the piss' out of people and songs quite a lot...
