YAY,
weather warming up and time for my favourite food....salad.
had a Chicken tonight with a Garden Salad, some Sweet Potato Salad and a Brown Rice with Broccoli Salad...
another few weeks and it will be BBQ weather...WooHoo !!!!

fish fillets wrapped in foil with lemon slices and Moroccan spices and steamed on the BBQ tonight.

We've all heard of a peppered steak - a standard sort of meal. I went to the butcher a few days ago and found a tray of peppered chicken. I thought that this is probably not going to be my thing but was pleasantly surprised. Turns out to be very tasty indeed. Will definitely have this again. Accompanied by cherry peppers - an oddball combination but it just works - well for me anyway - but then I'm an oddball anyway. Horses for courses and all that.

I had also never heard of it CH. Just saw it in the butcher's and thought I would give it a try. Lovely stuff. Don't have a clue what they put in the sauce but it works. You learn something every day.
When I was in Madeira I tried a steak with a coffee sauce - takes some getting used to but I did enjoy it - kind of. A traditional dish the local fishermen have when they come in off the ocean after fishing all night. The sauce was a combination of coffee and something else but I could not tell what. Should have just bloody asked!!!

another thing that is really weird but works:
something i saw Jamie Oliver do on one of his shows:
cut a small cube of cheddar cheese off the block, layer one side with honey then sprinkle on some instant coffee granules on top of the honey coated sheese.
sounds really disgusting and weird but it works, and one piece is enough to get the taste buds alive.
