LEN BARRY "1-2-3" B/W "bullseye" 1965
until i just looked up the Wiki i actually thought Len(despite the name Len) was actually a black guy...
must have been the cool soulful vocals that gave me that impression i guess...
but no, Len was a white guy which makes this songle i=even more impressive to me because he carried off the
'black soul' perfectly, especially on the "B" side which really has a Motown sound to it in the music and vocals....
i love bith sides of this single, this is awesome stuff...
single peaked at #3 in the UK and was his only real hit out there....

NEIL SEDAKA "oh carol" B/W "one way ticket" 1959
im a huge fan of 'the other Neil'....
this guy wrote and performed some of the greatest pop songs ever IMO....
i love both sides of this one, in fact before i checked his Wiki a moment ago i actually thought "one way ticket" was an "A" side in its own right
thank God for wiki, eh?!
and i could listen to Sedaka just about all day,every day!

LITTLE HEROES "one perfect day" B/W "waiting in the wings" 1981
short lived Aussie group who made this great "A" side...
song is about being far away from home and missing loved ones in the process, this could relate
to anyone, anywhere...awesome track IMO
"B" side...well, lets say its crap(you guys want the truth or falacy!)
single peaked at #12 on the Aussie charts, deserved higher but thats the way it goes with music

i was a fan of these guys, in fact i still enjoy the occasional listen to this UK 'new wave' group...
started life as a punk group but never made it till they changed their sound...
so on the "A" side, Adam tries his hand at rap...i love this one
"B" side...an almost Ian dury-esque sound happening here...
these guys always made cool colourful,enjoyable videos to accompany their singles...
single only made it to #43 here in Australia but top 10 in their homeland

standard run of the mill pop here with both tracks...
i was never enough of a fan to buy their singles back in the day, but i like
both tracks in this vinyl 45"...
theyre pleasant songs, and thats it.

OLIVIA NEWTON-JOHN "a little more love" B/W "borrowed time" 1978
i was never a fan of Olivia...
i think i remember liking "banks of the ohio" and maybe one or two of her early singles and the stuff from "grease"
but thats about it...
i just dont like her voice, its too whiney most of the time,and she's too 'sickly sweet and innocent'(well, thats her
public image anyway)

THE SEARCHERS "needles and pins" B/W "saturday night out" 1964
another of the Liverpool groups that hung off the coat-tails of The Beatles...
John and Paul were on record at the time saying they thought The Searchers were the best
band to emerge from Liverpool...
i love this "A" side, its one of the classics from that era of music IMO
"B" side, i dont love it, but with a few more listens im sure i could...

these guys had-had their five minutes of fame well before this one was released
but it propelled them back in to the UK top10...
i had not heard this one prior to playing it yesterday but i love it after one listen...
i dont like the "B" side at all

now here's a blast from the past...
the guy only ever released one album and only ever had one hit, this one....
i love both sides of this single...
this is the first time ive heard the "B" side,its a novelty track that would probably wear thin on repeat listens.
i would have thought he'd have done more than one album and one hit...
single managed top 30 status in the US and #9 on the UK charts
