it's called soul music

nice James Brown scream

I understand you didn't conflate the 2 but there is a distinction to be made (fine though that might be) between soul music and James Brown's funk music--JB's is less melodic and more heavily rhythmically oriented.

Definitely agree...and he even did a jazz album with Louie Bellson. I was just talking about the music he was best known for.

Great share, MH. He did those semi-novelty songs but also what is called Western swing hillbilly boogie: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X77zcf8pvpY and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HbvkiwZRNi0 and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z5KaqQak08Y
Great career and a true pioneer: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pee_Wee_King << Not bad for a country polka boy from Wisconsin

Peter Banks – died 07 March 2013, aged 65. He was the original Yes lead guitarist and is recognised as being an architect of Prog, as is the band. He also formed a prog band named Flash that I don't know much about. I have heard a magnificent instrumental cover of Yes' Astral Traveller on YT - here ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u597zuajp3w, but for the purposes of this post - the lead track from Yes’ debut album – Yes …

If they all died (and that's the common supposition), we can only hope it happened after a mere few minutes of terror, if any--by way of comparison, it took my mom 19 hours to die after hitting her windshield... Closure for the families would be welcomed but may never happen--there's mass murders/ mass tragedies from 3000 B.C. that haven't been solved... And bodies were found just this week from freezing deaths on an extinct volcano in 1959. 2 Million Syrians flooded into Turkey to escape terror, murder, starvation...1/3 of the Cambodian population was murdered by the Khmer Rouge, and how many died in the Hutu/Tutsi campaigns in Rwanda, and how about the horrors of the break-up of Yugoslavia? A few people voluntarily on an airliner? Damned shame but not earth-shaking. Whoever did this got exactly the reaction they sought--shock-and-horror publicity in the West--that's how terror works--you never know when or where it's gonna happen next. Which gives our governments the excuse they need to clamp down on civil liberties in the name of some vague "trust us" sense of security.
