definetly agree with all of these points.....music can change one mood to the exact opposite mood. that is powerful by something so intangible.

It's not important to everyone, I know lots of people to whom it's of no or trivial importance.
I see it like religion, some people need it to feel complete and for them it's essential - which is how I feel about music - doesn't necessarily make sense and any logical reasons seem unconvincing. Sliding scales apply - for me Music>Science>Art>Fiction>Poetry - might change in 5 minutes time though
