I thought about leaving because it did not seem like there was much going on in this forum regarding passionate music lovers discussing what music that they love and there seemed to be a huge lack of music knowledge about cool genre's here by the forums main posters..but maybe I was too quick to judge. Idk. If the people here are actually open minded and would like someone who is a serious pop connoisseur/collector to share lots of good pop music here with them and then able to give good, insightful opinions, then perhaps it would be worth staying for. Otherwise, it's all dead fish here..

look mate...
we are a small forum with only a few regular posting members but what we have with those members is a pretty darn good collection of knowledge of general music.
admittedly none of us are huge fans of modern r+b and rap but most of us do own some cds from those genres, and i can only speak for Music Head and myself, and i can tell you that both of us listen to either several new singles a week and post them on the forum as such, and most weeks we both try to post at least one newly released album that we've listened to online.
these new releases that we listen to are for the most part by either new artists, artists we have never heard of or those who are 'chart popular' at the current time...
we both believe that you have to at least try to keep up with modern music at all times regardless what our personal opinions on them are because occasionally we both discover a good album we would never have dreamed to listening to otherwise...
now, as for the other regular posters here(and us two)...
we all seem to love or at least have informed knowledge about certain artists,as im sure you do also...
"if i get some of your expert niches wrong guys please correct me for our new friend Articbird!
me, im pretty knowledgeable with artists like Neil Young,Paul McCartney,Paul Weller,Elvis Costello,Nick Cave,Finn Brothers etc...all totally different artists in their own right!
Music Head is very good with his knowledge on country(mainly real country),rock, and also Alternative as well as Bob Dylan to name a few
SteveO seems to be quite adept in a lot of real Metal, hard rock,Beatles and most things Canadian
evilB i havent quite worked him out as yet but he does have great allround knowledge of music(help me out here evil guy?!)
Jerome, very heavily into all things Prog, especially Pink Floyd, loves his Jarre,Mike Oldfield,Vangelis and all things experimental...has a passion for unusual instruments and sounds and dare i say is quite clever when it comes to recording/studio techniques as he does his own recording also.
jazzbo again, havent worked him out yet neither but he also has a good allround knowledge of music
so, and sorry if i forgot any other members out there!?, our members have pretty much ALL genres of music covered.
and yes, we give our opinions about music quite freely, but we do not abuse other members opinions as we are a respectful community here, but if members ask for opinions they must be aware that they sometimes might not like the answers they are given LOL.
so Arctic_Star you are more than welcome to stick around here at MD for as long as you want to and we'll accept you as a brother/sister with open arms and respect.

Geez - I am blushing! Jokes aside - a forum is what its' members make it. Pure and simple. In order to get something out of it you have to put something into it. Much like marriage......

God bless you and them always!!!

P.S. If there are certain things that they would like to see talked about here, apparently they have not thought about making the first move by getting the chats going their self if the chats are not already here yet.
Listen to my most favorite singer here sometime, James Otto that is!

Thank you Crazy-Horse for being so kind and giving me a warm welcome to your forum! I really appreciate that! I understand the reasoning for why
a lot of music listeners like to keep up with what's new, hot and current but I prefer to "not know" what's going on lol..particularly because, in my opinion there's literally "no talent" or special pop artists today making decent pop music. It's all a waste land as I see it. Kind of like the image of the Terminators
walking the earth after most of the humans have been killed off in the beginning of Terminator 2. (excellent movie bytheway!)
Sorry to be so harsh but that's my 2 cents on that. I think it's pretty cool that you made a list of the main posters with their general music taste.
It shows that you as a forum leader are paying attention to your members and care about us. Now I feel like I will be staying on this forum.
Hmm, EvilB probably likes Scottish disco metal and punk poka. lol No no just making a harmless joke. :-D
Well for me..as you will become to know..I am very fond of pop music, mostly sung by female vocalists who for the most part
go unheard by most people who listen to pop music mainly..which is a shame. :-( However, I hope that by coming to worthy music
forums and participating in music sharing and discussion that I can help spread more of the wonderful pop music that I love to
more pop ears out there. At least that's what I'm hoping for.
This is the first music forum that is not ignoring my posts and that seems to actually give a damn of what I have to say.
So thank you guys for that! :-) That with only a few regular posters is way better than hundred regulars who are all snobby
and ignore people who actually want to discuss music, for real! Not just what is charting and always the same lame top pop acts.

So when you get banned from a forum it's kind of like getting a divorce? :-D (not that I ever get banned from forums or anything) Or the other members putting out a restraining order on you? lol :bolt:

there is some worthy talent out there Arctic-guy but i have to sift through a tonne of septic crap to find it because the guys with talent rarely get airplay or chart success on a large scale because all this generation wants to see/hear(and im generalising?)...is skanky videos, repeatative bollocksy lyircs and stupid looped computer generated beats. and that my friend is not music IMO, its noise/sound aimed at the masses to make a quick buck or two.
there's bands like Black Keys,Gaslight Anthem,Arcade Fire,Imagine Dragons,Fun,Kings Of Leon,My Morning Jacket,Airbourne to name a few, who are keeping rock's home fires burning!
