The only thing I donât like about the second clip is that they dressed the musicians and dancers in domestic help uniforms which is not only demeaning but completely inaccurate. When you went to a Harlem dancehall back then, people were dressed to the nines in opulent suits and dresses. Zoot suits were very popular then and no man or woman would have been caught dead in a dancehall dressed like a cook or a maid.
