What a weird day - Docvan's classical music festival followed by table thumping rugby watching! A fine balance! 
I first attended a recital of baroque music from the 1600 to 1700's - for harpsichord and viola da gamba, the latter of which I hadn't really heard before. A strange and mysterious instrument! It's darkly evocative and almost pagan - doesn't allow a simple hearing. In my imagination, the sound is a time capsule - a direct representation and translation of that period in history. Fascinating stuff! I couldn't find the excerpt that particularly struck me on YouTube, so here is another, by a maestro ...
And a piece that was played at the gala concert (which had to start a little earlier so people could leave in time to get to wherever they were going to cheer on the bokke - nothing like having one's priorities straight! LOL!) ...
