Night on a bald mountain
Hi Anthony, I do hope that you realise that the two Strauss's mentioned are not related, were probably a 100 years apart. Aside from these things, it's wonderful music by two excellent and very different composers.
Now listening to Mozart's Great Mass in C Minor.

:innocent: Whopps... Maybe I should have read the tin. Thanks for pointing that out.
As we were talking about him, I am actually listening to him now. Andrea Bocelli.
The Phantom of the Opera.
Just the other day, on a bus I listened to Léo Delibes - Flower duet from Lakmé. I heard it through my earphones and I just got carried away. Overviewing the diversified sunlight over the altering landscape and listening to that tune in that bus was like god (or someone) had created a marvellous soundtrack to my entire day... life.
Realizing I was alone in that experience was... uh, made me a bit sad and yet... Happy!

There's something very special with those two voices: Mady Mesplé and Danielle Millet and an orchestration by Alain Lombard. I think it was recorded in 1971.

Anyway: It's like heaven through my earphones on a bus in February.
