Peter Agnew was born on this day in Dunfermine, Scotland. He is the last remaining and only surviving member of the original Nazareth line-up. A mean bass player is about all I can come up with right now! I’ve been listening to bits and pieces and I must say, although I think Long John Baldry’s version of “Morning Dew” knocks everyone else’s into a cocked hat (to use an outdated colloquialism I’d forgotten I knew!) theirs is pretty impressive. And then – surprise! Who should appear in the Hair of the Dog credits – on tabla – in “Please Don’t Judas Me”? None other than the ubiquitous Mr Phillips, of course. Some good old fashioned head banging …
