Well to be honest, Tegan and Sara have been flying most under the radar until their recent success with the more radio-friendly records - Sainthood and The Con, so that is probably why there was a lack of those kinds of songs.
I guess a portion of my music does come from watching Tv and appreciating the music played on shows. One Tree Hill happens to revolve a lot around music and does happen to pull some major artists and give something back to survival artists like Gavin DeGraw, whose life was saved by the show. So many of them to name and although I heard a lot of them already, they did show me the success of New York and other indie bands around the States (because I don't get that kind of exposure down under!).
