thats around 72hrs since the last million was recorded.

a couple of reasons for this i suspect:
1: the vaccines are now underway
2: countries are now following Australia/New Zealand's lead in quarantining incoming persons
3. more countries now taking the virus seriously and promoting the use of masks/sanitizer etc etc....

i find that strange they would do that because there has apparently never been a one case of Covid-19 in Nth Korea (if you believe the propaganda from Rocketman!)
