Definitely have to disagree with the predictability aspect there. When it comes to heavy metal (which soon transitions to a more hard rock style) then I always saw Metallica as helping really adapt the genre and keep it relevant with their varying themes and evolving production, which changes with each album; not to mention how they even dabbled with the country music genre in their 'Load' album. You're certainly entitled to your opinion however.
