^Yup! I second that.
Ben Harper was born on this day in 1969, Pomona, California. He is a versatile and eclectic artist â he plays a host of instruments and sings, and embraces a variety of styles â blues, folk, soul, reggae and rock/alt rock being just some of them, and sometimes all on the same album which is kinda discombobulating, but never boring!
Whatever he does musically, he seems to bring passion, which is seldom a bad thing. His maternal grandparents had a music store, The Folk Music Center and Museum, which was apparently frequented by Leonard Cohen and David Lindley, the latter of whom has had a profound influence on his work, and who appears on a couple of his albums. Harper has won three Grammy Awards and is noted for his guitar skills.
From Burn to Shine, because I have it ⦠somewhere!
