David Gilmour, born 06 March 1946. Happy Birthday to him! Another one who needs no introduction, but this is something a little different - and so beautiful ...

I'm not a huge PF fan but his guitar playing for them made them IMO.
Their"division bell" album is so atmospheric thanks to his emotive guitar work and dreamy vocals.

^I like the one before that as well - A Momentary Lapse of Reason. "Learning to Fly" is one of my favourite tracks of theirs.

Chris White, born 07 March 1943; bass guitarist, songwriter and occasional vocalist for the Zombies, and later Argent.
Most notably, he wrote 7 of the 12 songs on the Zombiesâ highly acclaimed Oddessey and Oracle (Oddessey was misspelled by the designer of the album sleeve), and then, when the Zombies split, he went on to join Argent and proceeded to co-author, with Rod, "Hold Your Head Up" which charted in the top 5 in the US and UK, and peaked at #5 in both. (Rick Wakeman apparently cites the B3 solo on that track as being the best organ solo ever â Rod Argent is a magician on all sorts of keys, no question - this is it, for interest - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=anpMFcae9rI.) Getting back to Chris White â hereâs one from O&O, he wrote and on which he sings the second verse -

On the Zombies....
That's a very good album.... Paul Weller rates it as the "greatest album" ever made
