Leslie Gore Past Away
#1
Leslie Gore past away at the age of 68. To all those who remember Leslie in her prime such as me, she was a wonderful performer.
She had a hit in 1963 with "It's My Party".
She will be missed.

Damned sorry to hear this news. For a lot of women in that era (and some of us guys too), Ms. Gore was female empowerment. She had charge of her career including songs, appearances, etc.--rare, maybe unprecedented for that time--women were merely talent, hirelings for the most part. A strong woman who made great music...on her terms. She did stuff up to the end, most of which I don't find interesting.

Some tunes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SjG8y_fbQpw << I've said/sung this to women--some got it, some didn't.
