In the mood for some opera today...This aria is the most beautiful and astounding vocal I have ever had the privilege to listen to! It's almost bird like and one wouldn't think it came from a human!

J.S.Bach's prelude for cello in G minor. Masterpiece of simplicity and polyphonic tension at the same time. And BIST DU BEI MIR, excerpt from one of his cantatas, sung by Hayley Westenra.

Truly impressive. Truly. Extremely natural voice, power, resistance, sustain, clear colour, expressive and crystalline. This woman is a force of nature. Well chosen, SteveO.

You've really caught my attention, smottie. Nicely worded, and intensely expressed. I also enjoy Faure's compositions. And I, like you, have oftne found myself utterly alone while listening to beautiful music..on a bus, in a car, amongst a mottle of noisy and annoying people who make you feel even more alone.

Holst - The Planets - heard this before, but decided to play this again after many years. Can't say it's a favourite but it's OK.
