I am not really a Country music fan - too much of it is about the girlfriend that left, the dog that died and the truck that won't start. I do however like John Denver's stuff. Surprised no-one has mentioned him.

I wouldn't really consider John Denver a country singer. More of a folk singer. I did like him though. SteveO, did you ever hear Kitty Wells and her daugther sing How Far Is Heaven?? I think it was a hit for them. I used to love hearing them sing that mile:
