Then there is marvelous word indeed--Dave Mason is touring, doing songs from the '67 and '68 albums, his solo stuff and a whole bunch more. He's esteemed enough to get with him some spiff-o musicians. This grueling tour (check the schedule ) lasts 'til end of March '15. Now in Texas, they'll tour through the Southern Heartland (TN/KY/NC) do the Northeast Turnaround then visit the folks in the Upper Midwest. Did I mention a Georgia-Florida leg? The reviews have been ecstatic--in terms of musicality, pith and grit onstage and huge audience involvement. I sound like his pimp. I'm OK with that. I'm going to the gig and I'll buy the shirt--and it's been years since I bought a tour shirt. Of note: he's deliberately playing small/mid-size venues--he wants to, needs to feel that audience getting engaged.
