It's been an eclectic kinda day. Started with this song which should probably be in the track I am listening to but I'm here now, soooo ...

Rock Your Baby.... I ask my Sweetie whenever the mood strikes me and he's always right there. This George McCrae oldie but goodie is SOOOOO PERFECT as a dance tune, speed/bpm is just right to make all the right moves, a full suite of hip work and everything. I wanted to go with the Disco Purrfection remix because it's SO CRISP and fresh sounding, but they messed it up at the normal end of the [extended] song. So the original.... lots of eye candy for the guys in this vid.... and now we know what's gonna happen right? Tongue

SHANIA TWAIN "up!"  cd,  2002

her fourth of five...
another pop singer the experts call "country"...
follow up to the 40 million selling "come on over" so was always going to be a hard act to follow, and it was...
nineteen bloody tracks, total overkill IMO...
some latino sounds, has a Shakira feel in places but doesnt work...
a couple of the hits i love, some of the rest i like...
overall this is overkill, underwhelming and it dont impress me much...
I DO NOT LIKE THIS ALBUM

MENTAL AS ANYTHING "cats & dogs"  vinyl/cd 1981

thrid studio album from this Aussie New Wave band...
were just starting to go commercial sounding pop by this stage but not as cringeworthy as they did later with "live it up"...
two hits off this album here, both have a country tinge to them...
probably their best album for me...

Words were exchanged last night
You could call it a fight
It's such a shame, I never thought we would
Wouldn't be so bad, if it weren't so good
I've had enough of that
With other loves in days gone by
It wasn't much I know
Mmm just enough, enough to make me cry.

If you leave me, can I come too?
We can always stay
But if you leave me, can I come too?
And if you go, can I come too?.

Don't let it happen again
'Cause that I couldn't take
Ooh once was quite enough
It's easy to forgive, harder to forget.

If you leave me, can I come too?
We can always stay
But if you leave me, can I come too?
And if you go, can I come too?

CARRIE UNDERWOOD  "play on" cd, 2009

her third of eight...
my first and at $1 thought i couldnt go wrong...
not sure about her other albums but this one is more pop than country, like Shania...
much prefer her more uptempo tunes than the slower more acoustic country ballads...
that said, theres nothing i dont like on here and she was probably an influence on Taylor...
all up, a decent album overall...

FOSTER THE PEOPLE "torches"  cd,  2011

a long overdue revisit...
their debut of three, i own this and the follow-up...
follow-up isnt anywhere near as good...
straightforward pop tunes on here with most having a similar feel to the hit 'pumped up kicks'...
album does fall slightly flat towards the end due to the similarity of the songs, but those ones are still okay..
nothing not to like on here and two or three stand outs, but none as much as the above mentioned hit...
had no idea lead vocalist Mark Foster was married to the insatiable Julia Garner .Damn! so jealous of the dude!

found this version on YT,
not sure if it is meant to be a parody or to be taken seriously...
sung by a guy from Peru called Tongo,
he is singing it in Peruvian, Spanish and his broken English,
i thought it was entertaining, well, moreso than listening to Korean Psy anyway.
