ive been bothered by my 'aged' comments re: Montserrat and Isle Of Man since i posted them because i hate making comments without some sort of factual basis so i have Wiki'd the age demographics:
seems age could well play a part on the amount of deaths from Covid in Mann
but possibly not so much in Montserrat whose age demographic is similar to the UK.
also, i knew the Gibb brothers were from the UK but had no idea they were born on Mann!

It's all about people STILL thinking they can do whatever they want and to hell with the consequences. I read an article about Santa visiting a care home. He was bringing more than just presents and good cheer. Turns out he was infected and as a result 16 of the patients have now died and half the staff are infected as well. The remaining patients have all tested positive!!??!! Unfortunately it appears there is still no vaccine available to fight stupidity.
In South Africa 41000 healthcare workers now ill. Curfew at 9pm. 6 months jail for not wearing a mask. Spreading through all the provinces like wildfire. Not a single hospital bed vacant anywhere. Sales of booze banned.
And then you have idiot airline companies like Ryanair telling people to book holidays??? What is it going to take for people to wake up?

Just looking at your stats page again CH. Seems like Ireland has a very bad recovery rate - only 30% - when compared with other countries. India on the other hand has a very high recovery rate - over 95%. Wonder what the reason behind that is? I know a lot of people in Ireland have underlying health issues. Bad diet being the main reason plus a very high rate of alcohol consumption.

was watching BBC world earlier they did a special segment on "India and the virus"
the reporter was in Mumbai (Bombay),
she was interviewing a medical expert out there who was saying he thought it was going to take the best part of a decade for life to get back to what it was pre-Covid in his country.
the medical expert said he believed that cases of Covid could be ten-fold the official numbers in his country because of overcrowding especially in the poorer areas on the outskirts of major cities.
he also said that due to very little work in the major cities because of Covid that poor people who live in the slums are now on a mass exodus back to their remote villages and that he fears tens if not hundreds of thousands of those could have the virus and not know they have it, they will then pass it on to their villages when they get there
