Australia has had 20,698 Covid cases to date.
of that two States make up around 80% of those figures, Victoria 14,000+, and New South Wales almost 4,000 cases.

of the almost 14,000 cases to date in Victoria our health professionals have just hit a horrible milestone of 1,000 positive cases.

as an add on:

with the issues in victoria in regards to the virus dickheads held an "anti-mask" protest in Melbourne today....WTF is wrong with people, seriously, its beyond a joke !!!!

And climbing....

South Africa now over 500 000 cases alone.

Many African countries are reporting low numbers but I think the real figure is far, far higher. I am willing to bet the actual worldwide number of cases is well over 50 million at this stage.

funny you mention the 50,000,000 mark
experts here say that number is in fact probable with the gross under reporting especially in the Third World countries, namley Africa, like you mentioned Jerome.

^Africa's a continent - just sayin'. Tongue
Definitely inaccurate numbers all over the place, not least China.
Of those 560,000+ confirmed cases, we have 417,000 odd recoveries and a surprisingly low mortality rate, to date - I add, with caution. Then again, Russia has too. It's all a bit of a mystery. Not going away though - we'll have to adapt.

my bad Ruby, bad typo eh? hehehe

Our State Premier was only say this morning that he expects at least another 12 months or some sort of restrictions simply because if a vaccine is found he would still want the vast majority vaccinated prior to a complete removal of those restrictions.

i think this virus might change the minds of some anti-vaxers now that theyve seen the results of what exactly a pandemic can do.

**comment proof read and approved for posting (in case Ruby reads it at some point)** LOL

^Quite right too – can’t be letting our standards slip!

Only kidding – I don’t go around correcting people as a rule, except for when it comes to my own progeny, who now tease me mercilessly whenever I dare take issue, all because one day I told them they needed to ‘enunciate’ which they found hysterically funny. They love imitating me in that moment, lol!! That’ll learn me. Big Grin

this just shows how much Covid is decimating all of out economies.
during the GFC Australia's unemployment rate did not rise above 6% yet during Covid so far it was already reached 7.9% and estimated to rise another 1.5-2% in the next six months.

just watched a journalist report on BBC world from inside Somali.
he was interviewing locals, medical professionals and an undertaker.
it appears locals dont believe in the existence of Covid-19, 'its just a beat up by the Government to keep us suppressed'.
the medical staff in hospitals say they havent got the infrastructure to and technology to cope with the disease.
the undertaker from a cemetery about twenty miles outside Mogadishu says that he used to dig about ten graves a week prior to May this year, since then he has been digging on average 400 a week and had to employ a dozen men to assist.
still,
Somali doesnt have a Covid problem according to the official reports as theyve had a maximum of 100 attributed deaths since the pandemic began!

like Ruby and Jerome have previous said, the numbers are a lot higher than official reports.

food for thought, if Somali is average for an African country add 400 deaths per week not only to every country but to every cemetery in every African country and the numbers must be staggering!
