Spare a thought for those people creating music but who also rely on it for their livelihoods and to pay the bills. They are now in a very precarious situation. First streaming services like Spotify have decimated their income by paying them virtually nothing for their efforts while they take the lion's share of the profits. The one revenue stream open to them was live performances and concerts. Now that's gone as well. Tricky times ahead and a lot of independent musicians will be moving out of the industry into other areas for sure. They don't have a choice. No gigs = no money. There are hundreds of thousands of bars across the world who regularly have live music. No more. It's quite bloody sad.

I know someone in that exact position mate,
Luckily he has a fulltime career to keep him afloat, well actually he doesn't right now, he's a Physio/sports therapist for a major sports club here, so out of work on both accounts.

On a erm... brighter note - the ladies of the night in towns in Ireland have decided that their services are going to cost a whole lot more than the usual fee due to the increased risk of exposure to C19. Well you have to take your hat off to them (apart from all the other garments as well). At least someone is being creative! They are apparently making hay while the sun does not shine. Rumour has it their rates have doubled and in some cases tripled - I kid you not. The one problem is their regular johns don't have any money coming in so while they are charging more they actually have a lower turnover. Cheques and balances! And hotels and motels are out of the question so it's home visits only. The divorce courts are going to have a field day...

funny how times change and things that were cool then not so cool are now cool again.
seems the old fashioned video rental store is making a bit of a comeback here in Australia with people being stuck at home, I guess they want more than the likes of Netflix can offer them...

They opened some stores in Ireland yesterday (hardware stores, auto repairs etc.). There were queues of people at the hardware stores from 7 in the morning??!!?? Why do human beings act like sheep? Could they not wait a day or two, or even a week before going to buy non-essential items? People are just plain crazy.
On a lighter note, some of the guys at work are coming in with the weirdest looking haircuts I have ever seen, courtesy of their wives, girlfriends & daughters. Hairdressing 101 is in full swing.

I hear you MH. I go out as normal - or as normal as I can be - (which in itself is an oxymoron BTW). I don't wear masks and gloves and all that other crap. But I do keep my distance. The shops open here and everyone goes bananas - like they are going to miss the show or something. Nuts.

Australia has just passed the one million test mark, not bad for a country with less than 30 million people:

according to this article the US has conducted around 4 million tests (im rounding the figure up for simplicity) with a population of around 330 million:

those figures equate to one in 28 people have been tested in Australia as opposed to one in 80 people in the US
im not saying the US is not pulling its weight, just giving a comparison between the two countries at this stage of the game.
