Sorry to be the bearer of melancholy tidings, but if this info is correct, 594 musicians have died this year who were active across a range of genres, whether well-known or not.
http://weheartmusic.typepad.com/blog/mus...-2016.html. I suppose it's a mere drop in the ocean compared to mortality rates in general, just that some of these people touched us deeply and have left a lasting impression, and that is why we mourn them specifically ... because we felt we knew them.

i read the list Ruby, but i was struggling (with all those names) to locate an English band, who had just released their debut single in the UK early in the year,
they were off on a promotional tour of Europe, cant recall which country they were in, but their tour bus went off a bridge or something into a river or a ravine from memory
and the whole group died, average age 19!
like i said, i cannot recall all the details but the details are pretty close to what happened,
i cannot also remember vaguely what the band's name was, they had an Arctic Monkeys feel, heard the single, hated it,
pretty sure an album of tracks was rush released in the UK, but i don't think it sold very well.
sorry for the vague recollection, but that's all ive got!

I have a feeling that 2017 will be even worse. But who knows...

^^^ Sadly it could be. Even if we don't lose as many, the ones who do go forward could be some really big people in the celebrity field.
Just a little bit ago, I heard a new song on country radio and its from new singer William Michael Morgan. Well it was written by a man who was one of the many to go forward this year. Andrew Doriff is his name and "Missing" is the name of the song. In my opinion, he couldn't have done a better job on it.
God bless you and his family and William Michael always!!!

Listen to my most favorite singer here sometime, James Otto that is!
