STAR WARS "the force awakens: episode VII"
#1
is anyone else here waiting with baited breath to see the seventh instalment of the Star Wars franchise when it is released at the end of the year??

i loved the first three original movies but hated the three they made a few years ago as prequels, only good
thing about those was the final half hour of the third movie where we see Ben "obi-wan" Kenobi fight Anikin Skywalker tot he death to where
Anikin survives and the Emperor saves him by turning him into Darth Vader...

the new movie is a follow on from the original third movie, but number six in the franchise...Return of The Jedi...
this one is set a couple of decades on from that one and returns with the original cast of Luke Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford reprising their original roles

i for one cant wait to see the unanswered questions left open after "return of the jedi" back in the 1980s....!

yeh ok....

but there were so many questions left open with Star Wars like....

Ben Kenobi told Luke Darth Vader killed his father...
the link between Leia and Luke....
why Ben Kenobi really became a hermit....
why Luke has 'the force' running through his blood.... etc etc....

didn't these questions without answers ever bug you?

have you never seen "the empire strikes back" or "return of the jedi"????

damn, I forgot to add....

"the empire strikes back" and return of the jedi" weren't just moneymakers for Lucas Films IMO....
they were necessary to "complete" the Saga....
the three pre-quells were unnecessary IMO, apart from the way Anikin Skywalker became Darth Vader.

also, as a question...
if you dislike sequels, did you enjoy all the Lord Of The Rings movies(excluding The Hobbitt)????

aha......good on you for calling me on that one
yes LOTR is an exception
in its defense it was written as 1 story
and being a lover of that I highly anticipated those sequels when it came to the movies

as far as the questions you have after watching a movie
hellfire, make up your own answers, as the movie will in any sequel
it's fiction dude

the only question I ever have after watching a movie is
why did I waste my time watching that?
and the answer to that is, to do something with the wife
when you're old, the only thing you do together is watch tv
if she wasn't here the only thing the tv would be on is C-span or the news or sports
other than those I have no interest in the boob tube

can you tell I got some good weed?

I hear ya mate.....

Star Wars(the first three original movies) were also written as one story, George Lucas had a huge manuscript entitled "the adventures of Luke Skywalker", he worked in into three books...thus three movies,

but yeah, sequels on the whole are 'cash cows' for the studios, actors, writers etc etc, none are ever good as the original movie.

I enjoyed the movie, but I wasnt a huge fan of Kylo Ren. He didn't really have any motivation for the things he was trying to do.
