Can we differ a wee bit on this? I think the worst punishment to inflict is confinement for life, totally isolated. They will vegetate, go totally bonkers, in 5-6 years...but still be living inside their own heads. You may actually be doing them a favor by killing them...and they may truly welcome death, to end the demons. I say: keep the demons alive.
