I knew that infamous date was upon us.
what a time it was
imagine this old man, does nothing but sit outside all day, watching nature go by.
smokin' wacky tobaccy, reading books, listening to music, minding his own damn business
suddenly some damn hick talkin' foreigner party animal shows up out of the clear blue sky
drags the poor old man across half the country, Kentucky, Ohio, Tennessee, Arkansas, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia
makes the old man crawl through caves, subjects him to mass mauling by some ny dolls and one cleveland one
leaves the poor guy gasping, reaching for his nitros no less
but was that enough........ no way
intrigues the old man by offering visions of the opportunities yet to come
on the road again
forced to sit in dive bars, listening to redneck music at ear splitting levels
on to the king city (EP & ML), to the palace, for whining and dineing
forward we must go, through the slums of the big easy. the smells of urine and vomit
then across the southeast, sometimes exceeding speeds of 90 mph, unheard of by the old man, leaving him dizzy
trashing hotel rooms along the way, forcing the old man to pay for damages
to end up in the sunshine state, a Major attraction, and a Major's family to boot
then the party animal entices the old man to meet an old band mate at some low life coffee shop
not bad though, turns out to be some sweet chic-filet, but kids are attached, so no dice
beautiful scenery on the horizon in the hills, country road take me home
none the worse for the wear, the amigos arrive back to the departure point
a lifetime friendship was formed in those madcap escapades
leaving a path of destruction across the southeastern US
sounds like a good movie to me
can't wait for the reunion tour mate
