Red Hot Chilli Peppers "the getaway"

I only own one o their studio albums...."stadium arcadium"
and a compilation but have heard several of their other albums...
the songs on here are in similar vein to their singles
"dani California", "fortune faded" and say "universally speaking",
thyre light, theyre mellow and easy to listen to...
then after about eight tracks it gets really heavy,
lots of distorted guitars and evolves into something close to
psychedelic for a couple of tracks, the album then quietens down
for the remaining two tracks or a piano ballad and one that sounds like
a choir of angels when it starts...
a very good album IMO, but I guess RHCP are a band you either like
or dislike, and also, you either like their earlier material or their modern
material, me?,
im in the camp o liking their modern material better than their early stuff...

I see one song on the album features Elton John and is partially credited to John/Taupin. Supposedly it's similar in parts to "Bennie and the Jets". That is a song I used to really like, but have grown a bit tired of over the years.

rather surprised to like some of this
as I am not a fan of the band
that's what can happen when you have the ability to put aside a bias
