i listened to Meddle in or around 1980 i guess....
i bought the album The Wall and loved it, neighbours of ours were huge Floyd fans and let me borrow a few of their albums, unfortunately they were all the pre-DSOTM ones and i just didnt get it, in fact i hated them with a passion....
had they let me borrow DSOTM or WYWH for example then my opinion of this band would probably be a whole lot different....
fact is, i just couldnt get my head around all those sounds/noises and avantguard (for want of a better word),psychadelic images, thus, my opinion of PF has been tarnished by their early crap and ive never got over it fully....

for those who dont know it.....The Division Bell is my favourite album of theirs as an overall piece of work followed by The Wall

Love this album. A great one.

Curious; Jerome and/or Rusty, either of you guys ever hear "Meddler" or "Meddled?" They're bootlegs of the show from the Paris Cinema on 9/30/71. I think "Meddler" is all mono for whatever reason and "Meddled" is the stereo version. I just found a copy of "Meddled." Usually, I'm not a giant fan of Pink Floyd bootlegs (a lot of the ones I had heard before sounded like less good versions of the studio tracks) but "Meddled" is absolutely nuts. In a good way. In the best possible way.

Here's the awesome "Fat Old Sun" from the show.

Meddle was the turning point for the Floyd. 'Echoes' was the doorway they had been looking for. Syd had given them a glimpse of what was possible but he could not get there himself. He was just too out of it. I like Echoes and A Pillow of Winds (beautiful track). The rest of the album is just filler. And to answer your question LMD - no I have not - thx for the head's up!
