A friend of mine went to one of his concerts a couple years ago and said it was hands down, the best concert he had ever been to in his entire life! He says Robin Trower is a guitar playing genius.

It's one thing (and a damned good thing) to be a supreme guitarista--it's another to bring that talent so it's appreciated, a showman of sorts. Mr. Trower is both. I'd also look into Robben Ford... Not brash but not all that laid-back either--in control, in a good way.
