Red Hot Chili Peppers are back in the studio as of October 12, 2009.Their next album should be released sometime in 2010, according to Chad Smith. During September 2009 the band was nominated for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

it depends on which era of RHCP you are talking about. Everything post-Califormication has been transformed into pop-rock evident in Stadium Arcadium. Not sure, whether they are looking to go back to funk-rock but definitely have a look at Mother's Milk and Blood Sugar Sex Magik.
