God bless you always!!! Holly Little Big Town - Day Drinking - jazzboCR - 15-06-2014 James Otto Sweet Heart Wrote:As if another drinking song was needed in country music. Damn skippy--what's needed is more of those great murder ballads--many situations resulting from drinking, setting free inhibitions and impulses. Love that hypocrisy--forbid the making, selling or even legal drinking of alcohol, then extol that outlaw culture in verse. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PODFOF8rmSE << I think this was drawn from real life. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MzhS6blw7x0 and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VY-0sUHsN2Y << from a kick-ass '85 album Willie and the Poor Boys This is so mid-20th Century--these days they take over an abandoned building in a US broken city and make it there--druggies do to but they need a lot more electricity, thus harder to hide. No need to go up into the hills and hollers--not wise to wander too far into any US National park however especially in California--trip wires from the natives, armed men from the cartels, thus and such. Little Big Town - Day Drinking - CRAZY-HORSE - 16-06-2014 back to the original post.... i thought the song was cool when it started, loved the indtrumentation and melody of the first verse... than in came a stupid chorus hook and it lost me right there... Some of the best country songs talk about drinking. I see nothing wrong with the subject even though I don't drink anymore because I was addicted and had to quit. Moderation is fine but it can get out of hand. Getting off the subject. I found myself tapping my fingers on my PC table to the beat mile:
Little Big Town - Day Drinking - JamGoodPro - 17-06-2014 Not every song needs a signature. But when one has one and uses it well, it speaks volumes about the production crew. I like the drum line rif at the beginning and toward the end. I have just started to pay attention to country as I need to broaden my horizons and I can add this to my bag. I do not drink so I can not relate to the content but I get the musical message, the one where the technique carries the words, and I get it. |
