Recommend a Jazz or Blues CD to buy? - ambernector - 03-01-2008
I am someone who is always willing to expand my horizons, and CD collection.
What I currently enjoy listening to is trio type JAM music, and ideally with a Double Bass as I love the deep sound it produces.
Therefore, if anyone thinks of a good CD you enjoy, and maybe think I might also. Then please post the details :coffee:

The recently departed Oscar Peterson is a great place to start for what you are currenyly enjoying Tony and this album from 1973 which also features Joe Pass on guitar and Niels-Henning Ãrsted Pedersen on bass is wonderful.

Dudley Moore - one of Britain's all-time top funnymen - was a talented pianist.
In the late 60s, he wrote and starred alongside with Peter Cook in a film called Bedazzled.
Moore also wrote the score, and it's a corker. Very jazz-like.

Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass - Goin' Places!
Great album. I have it on vinyl. It may lose some of its awesomeness as a CD, but Herb Alpert was an amazing songwriter.
