When I was a teen, you could use double albums like Kiss Alive! and Frampton Comes Alive to sift out the seeds before rolling one up.

Vinyl, the LPs that I grew up on in the 70s with my parents collection just leap off the turntable and hold you. I know people love digital and files to download, but there is still nothing like a great album I can put my headphones on lyin' on the living room floor and Imagine. Dark Side of the Moon and Abbey Road, along with Rumours and Steely Dan were perfect that way.

A lot of the time people talk about a preference for vinyl because it sounds 'warmer' than the newer digital delivery systems (CD players etc) but very often the amplifier that you are connecting the CD player to is the thing that makes the difference. If you have the equipment available try connecting your digital CD player to an older analogue (valve) amplifier. You might be surprised at the result - depending upon your gear of course. I have an old ONKYO amp and anything I put through it just sounds better.
