I still haven't done much Beatles listening though I've come to realize I know most of their songs already! They have been there all of my life. The problem is you can't get The Beatles on Spotify or anything like that and I don't have extra cash right now to buy.......but I think I will take my laptop and burn some CD's at my friend Mikes place when we go to Miami this month. He's a huge Beatles fan so I can get the albums from him.
Yes, I was listening to Band of Horses on Spotify. I'd already really enjoyed The Funeral but hadn't given the rest of the album much of a chance. I like it. It's one that had to grow on me though.

An excellent indie band, specialyzing in a modern take on roots rock ala the Band with influences of electronica and all sorts of other neat stuff

The bands listed thus far seem to fall into more of the indie folk category than alt country. For something with a tad more country I'd recommend Rose's Pawn Shop. If you like that I'll suggest some more.

I don't really like contemporary pop or hip-hop; examples: Jay-Z, Eminem, Beyonce, etc. The kind of music I'm really into is like techno and contemporary folk; examples: Daft Punk, The Great Wilderness, Such Handsome Silver, etc.
