Yes?? the ones who sang "owner of a lonely heart".. i really don't like that song.. Is the rest of their music similar?.. if so I guess I'll have to skip them.

Doors & 13th floor elevators are personal faves. will try the rest. thanks

The earlier stuff is not really similar to me. Lonely Heart was later in their career after they had "sold out"
Earlier albums were much better imo. My favorites are probably Relayer and Tales From Topographic Oceans.
Still largely keyboard dominated though. So if you don't like that, you won't like the earlier work either.

Looks like we're talking about prog now.

So, since everthing seems to be allowed:

Captain Beefheart & His Magic Band
Mahavishnu Orchestra
Frank Zappa
Sun City Girls - there's nothing more psychedelic than these guys
Sunburned Hand of the Man
No-Neck Blues Band
Jackie-O Motherfucker
Master Musicians of Bukkake - awesome supergroup; my album of the year so far

Sorry double post lulz

EDIT: just came up with more

Third Ear Band
Hapshash & The Coloured Coat
Vibracathedral Orchestra

You gotta try Ozric Tentacles.

It's instrumental and pure psychedelic. I'm discovering this band right now and it's a really great discovery for me because it's the first time I hear a band like this.

This is required watching/listening: YouTube - JEFFERSON AIRPLANE White Rabbit 1969 Woodstock

I love White Rabbit..

Surrealistic Pillow is in my top all time 5 fave albums..
I love Embryonic Journey..

I didn't know Jefferson Airplane were at woodstock, I thought they refused to perform there.. I am no old timer to know this accurately.. Had just read it somewhere..

BTW just wiki'd Ozric Tentacles, they look awesome.. their album covers are trippy... I advise all to give it a look.. I will check their music out & get back to the thread..

Thanks Guys!..
