I prefer About Face to the other albums. I have all the others but I seldom listen to On An Island or Live in Gdansk. The debut album is not bad but it might not be your cup of tea. I think About Face has his strongest set of songs. Hey but that's just me.
His solo guitar work on Brother Where You Bound by Supertramp is superb - (the title track).

While we are on the subject of Floydian solo albums I would be curious to see what people think of the other members of the group's solo efforts.
My faves are Roger Water's 'Radio KAOS' & Rick Wright's 'Broken China'. Nick Mason only has one that I know of - something called Fictitious Sports but I do not have a physical copy, only a download - don't like it.
The worst one is Roger's 'Music From the Body' - bloody awful concoction of noises and nonsense.

My favourite Floyd album is The Division Bell if that changes anyone's recommendations....
I have two or three of Waters solo albums, I'll have to have a quick skim through the tracks to let you know which one I like best.

In that case I would recommend 'On An Island'. But hold off for now CH. Wait and see what his new album is like. Might surprise us all.
