Why did he release the Endless River album under the name Pink Floyd?

if I got a Gilmour solo album which one would you recommend for me?

J-Man,
if I got a Gilmour solo album which one would you recommend for me?

I know I'm not J-Man, but IMO the best solo work is On an Island although the Live in Gdansk is nice and covers some Pink Floyd as well
