Canada has had a serious spending scandal that has infected the useless old Senate..a place where old suckholes are appointed by the Prime Minister. Our province (like US state) has nailed 5 members recently for illegal expense accounts. One of the criminals was a friend of mine whom I voted for!!!!...lol. Locally it was alleged that the mayor was getting money from an elderly woman's trust fund so he did not reoffer! No wonder people don't vote!!!!...lol! I realise that people will always vote like myself but it is obvious why there is so much apathy...our voting participation hovers up and down at 40%. People tell me often ..I don't vote because they don't do anything for me except raise taxes and they're crooks...not too far off the mark!
I agree!! Neither party has done much for us. More trouble than good!! Same with local politicians. One of our female City Council woman was caught driving by the police. When he stopped her she fell out of the car along with a bunch of wine bottles. Trouble here, they are like the Senate. They get in office and it's almost impossible to get them out. That is what is wrong with our town!!

All the talk of NWO made me a little uncomfortable, but that post made me infinitely more uncomfortable. The guy registered at a random forum with random people to post something that personal? I'm not sure I'm buying what he's selling there.

Just wondering LMD, why does the talk about the NWO make you uncomfortable?

I agree 100% - politicians are only in it for themselves. They don't give a shit about the electorate once they're in power. And that's what it's all about - power. I will not place a person in a position of privilege simply because of a nice looking flyer, TV show etc. I thought South African politics was corrupt until I came to live in Ireland. Now this lot have got it down to a fine art. Hell they don't even turn up for work half the time.

You got that right!! Man they shut that right up in a hurry!! We would have went to jail if the police had caught us with all that wine and drunk. Council people here get away with alot. That's why this town is in such a mess!!

All I'm gonna say about politics is that there should be a Green Tea Party. Take what's good (for people , not necessarily corporate entities) from the Left and Right and Middle, don't let divisiveness and gridlock and lobbyists and religion and greed get in the way. Of course, nothing like that will happen anytime soon in America , so we are pretty well screwed !

Wonder who is going to be at the top of the list for President next time? Y'all got anyone in mind you would like? I may be wrong but I think Obama might have the term limit changed. I have heard he is going to try. I would like to see Huckabee run Confusedmile:

It would take a change to the US Constitution for him to do so. This Amendment was enacted in light of Roosevelt's 4 elected terms: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twenty-second_Amendment_to_the_United_States_Constitution Plus I see no evidence he wants to try. If you could quote a source for your assertion, I'll give it more consideration...because otherwise there's not time to get the Constitution changed plus given the right-wing hysteria about his Presidency, the opposition is too strong.
