This is for the more mature ones among us

NWBHM music.......

Anyone remember:

The Press
Sledgehammer
Toad the wet Sproket
Liquid Diamond
Dumpys rusty nuts
Whitespirite
Streetband, used to play alot in chiswick (John bull pub) and st albans. (Horn of plenty pub)
The Simon townsend band

Have been talking to one of my work mates, and i dont believe that these did ever exist

all from around 1969-70ish

I once had a compilation album of NWOBHM which came via Sounds magazine, and that had Toad The Wet Sprocket, & Sledgehammer on it.

I can remember precisely nothing concerning either. Fell out of love with HM at around this time (More likely 1979-1980, James).

I love this stuff

Toad the Wet Sprocket was a NWOBM band? I thought they were a 90's alternative band.

Hmm, I just looked it up. Apparently there are two bands with the same name.

what about real british hevy metal like iron maiden

Britsh Heavy Metal - JonG - 27-11-2008

NWBHM is the metal from 1978-1982ish, Tig's correct. And it is all "real". And yes, Iron Maiden can be considered as such.
