I asked this question in the pop forum but then i thought this might be a better place. So apologies if youve seen my post in the pop forum.

I was wondering. Is there a place where i can find or purchase sheet music for modern pop songs or any modern songs (rock, jazz, whatever), but in the original instrumentation. Meaning if the song was written for bass, guitar, voice and piano, id like sheet music that is faithful to the original parts. Unfortunately, the only thing i can find is an arrangement for a full concert band or something of the sort.

Having asked in a local music shop, I can buy a microphone and stand for about sixty pounds. There is a cheaper one, but the sales assistant did not recommend it. I would also need a mixer and a speaker, which together would come to a couple of hundred minimum. I can afford that.

I hope to find a keyboard player who will learn to play about eight songs, which I will learn fully first. I then hope to book myself plus keyboard player to perform live at some local pubs.

One question: assuming that I perform two sets - ie play the eight songs, then have a break, then perform them again - then how much should I be offering to pay the keyboard player? Any thought?

Hi all - and hi Jerome. Have now put up a sample of my sons piano playing on Soundcloud where he performs one of his own tunes
Bear in mind tho, I haven't had him yet to put enough practice on the track to hit all keys on spot and the tempo is slightly shifting - guess I'll turn on the metronome for him to follow during a period

And I also discovered there is something strange happening when I export the Wav-file onto a memory stick - seems like some parts gets a bit duplicated - will work on that part

The tune is still under "construction" and the same goes for the title

Hi all - and hi Jerome. Have now put up a sample of my sons piano playing on Soundcloud where he performs one of his own tunes
Bear in mind tho, I haven't had him yet to put enough practice on the track to hit all keys on spot and the tempo is slightly shifting - guess I'll turn on the metronome for him to follow during a period

And I also discovered there is something strange happening when I export the Wav-file onto a memory stick - seems like some parts gets a bit duplicated - will work on that part

NEW! Griffiths's Scales Tutorial

Hello, I would like to introduce a new Scales and this simple tutorial! Griffiths's Scales!

Lets start of with the standard C Minor scale going up the keyboard:

Now something new! Reverse C Minor going down the keyboard!

Now, when playing going up the keyboard you play in Minor.

And when playing going down the keyboard you play in Reverse Minor.

Here's a simple tune going up and down the keyboard:

That's it, a nice simple idea with a great sound.
I call this technique Minor-Minor, there's also Major-Major etc.

My name is Paul G Griffiths and I'm 41 years old from Bristol England.

I would love to hear some recordings our your work in Minor-Minor, so post your work to this thread for everyone to hear!

Thank you.

Will the real Roland Baumgartner please be identified (can you help?)

Dear Anyone.

I'm trying to track down (and legally purchase!) tracks by a modern classical/music library guy called Roland Baumgartner. He wrote a TON of tracks/CDs for Esovision/Palm's Jackpot/Arcadia Music and there's some absolutely stunning music amongst them.

Thing IS, he don't seem to have a website I can find. When I GOOGLE him I get two completely different pictures of two completely different guys, one of them older with white hair and a stubbly white beard, one much younger with jet black hair and a jet black bushy beard. (If this allows me to attach pictures, I'm going to attach one of each guy.)

First of all, and I know this doesn't help, I've no idea which of the two pictures is the RIGHT Roland Baumgartner. Are they father and son, or just two different composers with the same name? If the latter, which of the two was the library music composer? I flat don't know!

The younger one being interviewed is HERE:-
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gs2jjGiUEgo

And I'm going to try to attach my only pic. of the older one. They're both old enough to be a program/music library composer. Neither of them seem to have a website, though the younger one's so flamboyant you'd expect to see his website with dancing graphics and 3-D movies of himself conducting mighty orchestras! (Managed to attach the pic. but if you can't see it - basically, if you think the YouTube one's wrong, it's GOTTA be the older one. So if you find anywhere saying 'Roland Baumgartner' with an older chappie with grey hair/stubbly grey beard, and you don't think it's the younger guy, you must have found the right one because I can't find any others!)

Please, could anyone help me spot the RIGHT Roland Baumgartner and (hopefully) help me find where to buy his awesome (on the whole!) music library MP3s/CDs from? I've been to the Arcadia website but you have to have a PIN number to use it and I can't work out how to get hold (legally!) of a PIN number for the site in the first place, yes I'm dumbass on using websites, have a laugh! If it helps, his best known (but IMHO not his best) album's 'Celestial Harmonies' on Esovision. (If you find any of his tracks, listen to his choral/choir work, there's a few tracks that leave you feeling like you've hit a wall of diamonds. You just don't wanna come down to Earth again, they're that good.)

I used to have his CDs but they got stolen and they didn't have his photo on anyway.

Yours hopefully
